Black Jesus Gallery
The truth of a Black Jesus stands up to historic fact much more than any Eurocentric image of Christ. Ideally it should not matter and does not matter from a strictly spiritual perspective. However the systematic portrayal of Jesus Christ as a White man does not stand up to historical evidence. This gallery is dedicated to offering a more Afri-centric image of Christ. Our first painting in this gallery is 'Jesus of Nazareth' as conceived by the Artist Saint. While we do not proport to know exactly what Christ Jesus looked like physicallly, see if this image speaks to you. .
 The work below is entitled 'The Baptism of Jesus'. It is a wood burning by Low Country Artist Richard White. A wonderful example of the power of line and simplicity in the creation of a mysteriosly captivating work of art. It is part of Saint's private collection. .
'Oh Night Divine' celebrates the birth of Jesus. Though the child is not shown the painting has definite Africentric overtones. The painting is really about the "Christ Light". .
